Exploring Autism — 8-week support group
$360.00

A small, live online support group for autistic women who want space to better understand their autism, recognize patterns in their everyday lives, and explore what support can look like beyond simply learning to cope.

Across eight weeks, we'll explore autism through a female lens, including masking and adaptation, sensory needs, burnout and capacity, communication, relationships, identity, self-advocacy, and practical ways to create a life that works more naturally with your neurotype.

This is a small group limited to six participants, allowing room for conversation, questions, reflection, and connection. You are welcome to participate actively or simply listen when you need to. A formal autism diagnosis is not required.

  • Masking, adaptation, and the ways we learn to navigate expectations

  • Sensory needs, overwhelm, burnout, and recovery

The holidays can intensify sensory demands, disrupted routines, family expectations, social pressure, complicated relationships, and the need for recovery.

This small, live online support group explores the holiday season through an autistic lens, with space to understand your needs, anticipate difficult situations, establish boundaries, and find practical ways to navigate the season.

Rather than focusing simply on how to “get through” the holidays, we'll look at what makes this time of year uniquely demanding and what you may be able to change, decline, prepare for, or recover from.

We'll explore:

  • Sensory demands, overstimulation, and disrupted routines

  • Family dynamics and social expectations

  • Boundaries around gatherings, traditions, and obligations

  • Masking and social fatigue

  • Communication and asking for what you need

  • Food, travel, gifts, schedules, and other holiday stressors

  • Loneliness, grief, and complicated emotions

  • Regulation, recovery, and creating traditions that work for you

  • Masking and adaptation within relationships

  • Friendship, intimacy, dating, and partnership

  • Family relationships and expectations

HerTism support groups provide peer connection, education, facilitated discussion, and emotional enrichment. Although therapeutic concepts and strategies may be included, participation does not constitute psychotherapy, counseling, diagnosis, medical treatment, or crisis care, and it does not establish a therapist-client relationship. To protect the intimacy of the group, meetings are not recorded. Participants are expected to respect one another’s privacy and keep personal information shared within the group confidential. Because this is a peer setting, HerTism cannot guarantee the actions of individual participants outside the group. Registration reserves one of a limited number of spaces for the complete group series. Your payment secures that space, regardless of attendance, and is not limited to the sessions you attend. For this reason, registration fees are nonrefundable and cannot be credited or transferred if you miss a meeting or withdraw after enrolling. If HerTism cancels a session or program, an appropriate rescheduling, credit, or refund will be provided. These groups are intended for participants who can safely engage in a peer-based educational setting. Anyone needing individualized immediate crisis support should contact an appropriate emergency service.
